“Is Jesus Out to Cause Division”
Of course, the answer to this question is no.
Will Jesus cause division. That answer is yes.
Now before you get upset with those statements, please read the following verses.
49 “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed! 51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. 52 From now on, there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two, and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
What does this all mean?
Jesus Christ will bring everyone to a point of decision. Will they choose to follow the world or Christ.
Many of the world’s people will say this is an easy decision. The world will win out every time.
But the minority of people, choose to follow Jesus all the time.
My wife and I help get some of our grandchildren to the bus stop and home from the bus stop. This morning as I was doing my devotions, my grandson wanted to watch TV. I said I was doing my devotions, and the TV would distract me. I told him, I am not sitting here playing games on my laptop. I am doing devotions with my laptop. I asked if he heard about Jesus before he goes to bed? He said yes. I said well I hear about Jesus when l do my devotions in the morning.
Then he asked an interesting question.
Grandpa, do you have to do devotions?
My answer was no. I want to do devotions.
I praise the Lord God that we can continue to read what He has done, is doing, and will do. I praise Him that my love for Him causes me to want to be with Him more.
You all have a tremendous day in the Lord,
Let everything that has breath (this includes you) Praise and thank the Lord.
Be a Blessing;
