It must have been great to see Jesus interact with the children. In our family, only one of our sons isn’t married. And he lives almost 600 miles from the rest of the family. When he comes to visit, perhaps his nieces and nephews treat him like Jesus was treated by the children of his day.
Ben quickly becomes the favorite uncle. The kids love home and love to play and wrestle with him. And to me it is amazing. He doesn’t see them very many times a year, but when he is around it is like he would live here all the time. His nieces and nephews love spending time with him.
This whole scenario reminds me of how the children would have come to Jesus. I am sure it was a spectacle to behold.
You are invited to read the following Scripture passage.
15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Shades of brown from dark to light, they are precious in his sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world.
