A Thought for Today: “The Wisdom of Solomon”
Most of you reading this, know the account where the Lord God told Solomon to ask for whatever he wanted and God would grant it.
We know that Solomon asked for wisdom and received it.
Because he made this wisdom request, the Lord God gave him riches and more.
Most of us know the story about the two women each claiming one son, and how Solomon had the wisdom to know which woman was truthful, which one was lying.
However, there at more scriptures talking about Solomon’s wisdom.
Please read the following verses.
29 God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.
30 Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the men of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.
31 He was wiser than any other man, including Ethan the Ezrahite — wiser than Heman, Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame spread to all the surrounding nations.
32 He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs numbered a thousand and five.
33 He described plant life, from the cedar of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of walls. He also taught about animals and birds, reptiles and fish.
34 Men of all nations came to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, sent by all the kings of the world, who had heard of his wisdom.
Solomon would have bn a delight to talk too. He has such great wisdom because he asks the Lord God for it.
I know, as a believer, I ask Him for wisdom in decisions that come my way.
I feel He answers those requests when ideas come to mind that certainly were not my ideas.
I pray you ask the Lord for wisdom too. He will not let us down.
