When I see that word, I think of what we sing many times in worship as our offerings are presented to the Lord.
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow
Praise Him, all creatures here below
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
But this is one of many Doxologies found in the Bible.
Please read the following verses.
33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?”
35 “Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay him?”
36 For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.
What does the word doxology mean?
Is it something we just sing while the offerings are being brought to the front?
Doxology- A hymn or verse in Christian liturgy glorifying God
The Holy Spirit inspired the writers of the Bible to break forth in spontaneous praise as they were writing.
They were overwhelmed by the love, mercy, and power of the Lord God and a song burst forth from their lips.
You have the same opportunity.
As you read and reflect on the Lord God, I pray that spontaneous praise would break forth from your mouths also.
