“I’m Sorry, I Can’t Do That!”
How many times have you had this thought?
I can’t were two of my most often used words.
I felt no matter what I did, I could not please my dad, so I would say I can’t.
I understand now in Dad’s defense, he was trying to teach me to do things well, but many times, he didn’t have the time to show me, so he just did it himself and I would get away with saying I can’t.
Please read the following verses.
26 Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
28 He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things — and the things that are not — to nullify the things that are,
29 so that no one may boast before him.
30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God — that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.
31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
The Lord God asks us to do things we feel we cannot do and truth be told we cannot do them by ourselves. However, we must be careful that our I can’t does not turn into I won’t.
He definitely leads us to uncharted waters and can do amazing things to us and through us if we will allow Him to.
So that He might get the credit for the great things He does.
Prepare for an adventure as you willingly turn your lives over to Him.
