“Let Go, Let God”

As people, we prepare, at least many do.
We prepare for marriage, we prepare for our vocation.
We prepare food and shelter for our families.

However, we can’t prepare for the call of the Lord on our lives. He prepares the ones He will use.
Our part is being available.

I see this truth in scripture. Please read the following verses.

1 Cor 1:26-31
26 few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you.
27 Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.

28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.
29 As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.
30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.
31 Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”

So do we go along drifting through life, just waiting for the Lord’s call on our life?

No, of course, not. We prepare for what we believe may be our call. But don’t get so hung up about what and how we plan to be used and be ready at the drop of a hat to follow the Lord God.
He may have been preparing us for His assignment in our lives already.
He may take us, a completely different way than we thought we were headed.

No matter where we find ourselves in life, may we let go and let God.
Remember, as you have often read here and in other sources; God doesn’t always call the qualified, but He will always qualify the called.

And no matter what He has us do, always be ready to boast not in what we can and have done; but upon what the Lord is doing. Amen.
