Let’s just admit it, we love to win; we hate to lose.
There are individual sports and team sports. In individual sports, there is only one winner.
As the auto racing guys say, second place is the first loser.
In team sports, you have as many winners as makes up the team.
The Bible talks about winning and losing too.
Please read the following verses
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
The Lord God, in His holy and just decision, has made salvation an individual event, if you will.
Where the destination of our eternal life will be, hinges on each person’s decision to Christ’s offer: His blood for our sin.
At the same time, He paid the price for all sin. So it isn’t only the first who claims the prize.
The truth is anyone who will claim the prize wins.
When we count on worldly man, not much in this life is guaranteed.
With the Lord God, we can always know He will keep His promises. His Word and Holy Spirit gives us all that we need to live for Him.
So come on one and all, join the winning side, headed up by our Lord Jesus Christ. There is room in heaven for any who would come. Amen
