We probably know where this thought is found. It is found on US currency. And while many people are happy about that, some are not.
Many people trust the money rather than the proclamation on it.
Please read what the psalmist has to say
1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people
both now and forevermore.
3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
4 Do good, O Lord, to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.
5 But those who turn to crooked ways
the Lord will banish with the evildoers.
As a nation, we cannot make the claim in God we trust, or that all trust the Lord.
But certainly as believers we can say in God I trust, I follow the Lord.
We were made by our creator to desire corporate worship, to worship with other people.
But our salvation is personal. We each decide what to do with the Lord’s offer; my blood for your sin.
I pray that more ad more people would make that personal proclamation, in the Lord God I trust.
