“Remember Others When We Enjoy the Harvest.

At our small farm in PA, we tried to harvest everything we could. We didn’t want to miss any hay and straw with the baler; we might go through the cornfields if we thought some had fallen off the wagon or the corn picker knocked some stalks down.

We had some fruit trees. If we saw we missed some apples, back up the ladder, we would go to get them.

When my Grandpa bought a corn picker, he would walk behind the wagon, making sure the picker was getting all the corn

Why am I telling you this? Please read the scripture, and you will see

Lev 19:9-10

9 “‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. 10 Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the Lord  your God.

Lev 23:22

22 “‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the Lord  your God.'”

Lev 25:5-7

5 Do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the grapes of your untended vines. The land is to have a year of rest. 6 Whatever the land yields during the sabbath year will be food for you — for yourself, your manservant and maidservant, and the hired worker and temporary resident who live among you, 7 as well as for your livestock and the wild animals in your land. Whatever the land produces may be eaten.

We were not following scripture, and I didn’t even know it. Now I am pretty sure right now, at least, that people would not takw the effort to look for food in this way. However, the point is blessing people because the Lord God blessed us.

Be ready to help the ones who need it. Indeed, we have been blessed, and believers share the bounty of the Lord God with others.

The Lord God instructed His people in many areas. His instructions included Spiritual living. He also instructed the common things in life. Thank you, Lord, for loving us so deeply.

Have a great day in the Lord, and be thankful for all that has been done for you.

What an awesome Lord God we serve.

  Be Blessed

Be a Blessing;

Amen
