“Did Jesus lose it?”
Well, His family thought He had.
I invite you to read the following verses
Mark 3:20, 31-35
20 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. NIV
31 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him.
32 A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”
33 “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.
34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!
35 Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
Would other families do what Jesus’ family did?
When families hear that one of them is living in an unusual way, they do what is called a family intervention.
The whole family goes to the wayward member and tries to help them get on track.
In this instance, I am sure Jesus; family meant well.
But as we read the broader scope of the Bible, we see that they didn’t know what was really going on with Jesus either.
Perhaps the Lord God hid Jesus mission from them as He hid it from the 12 disciples.
Believers, we are brothers and sisters of Christ. May we arise each new day with a new resolve to live for and be more like Christ?
We cannot do this by ourselves, ask the Holy Spirit for the help you need.
