“The Unpardonable Sin”

Please read the following verses Matt 12:31-32

31 And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Growing up, I worried about that unpardonable sin a lot. I didn’t want to commit it for sure. So I would think about what it might be. Perhaps it was saying this word or that phrase. And then in my mind I would say what I thought unpardonable sin was. Then I was convinced I was for sure going to hell.

Then I thought well what is this blasphemy? I settled on the definition that it was crediting to Satan the good things God has done.

That made sense to me, but as my faith has grown, my definition of blasphemy against the Spirit has changed again.

I believe the only unpardonable sin, is not accepting Christ’s offer of His blood for my sins. At least two times in the Bible it is clearly stated that the Lord God does not want anyone to spend eternity in the lake of fire.

For this to happen, we must all understand that we are born sinners, we inherit our sin nature from the man Adam. We cannot achieve heaven by doing good works. When we accept Christ’s offer, that only He can offer; because of the finished work of the cross, we are saved.

If we don’t accept His offer, if we think we can earn salvation, we will find ourselves at the Great White Throne Judgment. And anyone that is at the Great White Throne Judgment will spend eternity in the lake of fire,

Believers will also be judged, but that will be at the Judgment Seat of Christ. And that judgment is for our rewards. What have we done for Christ since we were saved? Lord willing, I will see you all there.

If you have not accepted, Christ’s offer, please do so today

Have a tremendous day in the Lord,

Let everything that has breath (this includes you) Praise and thank the Lord.

Be Blessed,

Be a Blessing;

Amen
