“Heavenly Treasure”
How much is enough?
How much money does one need to live a life on this earth?
One never knows.
We know we should work and earn money.
Scripture says the one that shall not work should not eat,
But we also know we don’t make money our God.
I invite you to read the following scriptures.
Matthew 6:19-21
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:24
24 “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
So, I do not find in the scriptures that it is wrong to have money.
However, we use a portion of that money for the work of the Lord.
We share with others.
We are not necessarily called to give all of our money away. However, we don’t want to spend all of our time and resources to build up a bank account with a certain amount in it.
Remember, where our money is where our heart is.
I know I want my heart to be with the Lord.
So let us all lay up our treasures in heaven.
We are not taking our money with us when we die, but we will enjoy our heavenly treasures.
