A Thought for Today: “I Never Knew You”
I invite you to read the following scriptures.
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’
23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Oh, what terrible words to hear from Jesus Christ at the Great White Throne judgment.
The people who have worked for their salvation will hear these words.
Some of these people will have been regular churchgoers, will have given money to the church and done many good things.
But they have missed the most important thing.
And that is to accept the finished work of the cross.
To hear these terrible words means one did not accept Christ’s blood to take away their sins.
They thought they were good enough to earn salvation.
Sadly, they will see this was the most terrible mistake they ever committed.
If you have not made Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior; if you do not think He gave His life for all sin, was buried and resurrected, talk to someone who understands these truths and can take you to the Word of God and show you these truths.
Your eternal future hinges on what you do with Jesus Christ.
Oh, the horror of hearing I never knew you.
But what joy awaits for the ones who hear this.
23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
