“Preaching in Chains”\

Are you talking about some of those fancy preachers that have gold jewelry on when they preach?
No, I am talking about the apostle Paul who preached in every situation he found himself in, even if in prison chains.

Please read the following verses
Acts 26:24-29

24 At this point, Festus interrupted Paul’s defense. “You are out of your mind, Paul!” he shouted. “Your great learning is driving you insane.” 25 “I am not insane, most excellent Festus,” Paul replied. “What I am saying is true and reasonable. 26 The king is familiar with these things, and I can speak freely to him. I am convinced that none of this has escaped his notice, because it was not done in a corner. 27 King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you do.” 28 Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” 29 Paul replied, “Short time or long — I pray God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.”
Paul was trying to lead anyone to the Lord who heard his voice. He wished they could all be like him (a believer) without being in chains but he did not allow prison chains to slow him down.

Not many of you reading this, (I pray none of you) are in prison chains, but you might have some other burden holding you down. What is it that impedes your ministry for the Lord Jesus?

These musings immediately made me think of a Gaither song. Sing along with me, won’t you?

“He Touched Me”

Shackled by a heavy burden,’

Neath a load of guilt and shame.

Then the hand of Jesus touched me,

And now I am no longer the same.

He touched me, Oh He touched me,

And oh the joy that floods my soul!

Something happened and now I know,

He touched me and made me whole.

Since I met this blessed Savior,

Since He cleansed and made me whole,

I will never cease to praise Him,

I’ll shout it while eternity rolls.

He touched me, Oh He touched me,

And oh the joy that floods my soul!

Something happened and now I know

He touched me and made me whole.

Be Blest, Be a Blessing.
