“May We Throw Ourselves Upon the Mercy of the Lord God”
One of the beloved verses from the Bible is this one.
Romans 10:13
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
What does it mean, to call on the Lord?
Please read the following verses.
Psalms 43:1-6
1 Vindicate me, O God,
and plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
rescue me from deceitful and wicked men.
2 You are God my stronghold.
Why have you rejected me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?
3 Send forth your light and your truth,
let them guide me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.
4 Then will I go to the altar of God,
to God, my joy and my delight.
I will praise you with the harp,
O God, my God.
5 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
The psalmist is not afraid to call on the name of the Lord God. We should not be afraid to call on the name of the Lord God.
He wants us to call on Him.
He wants to be in a love relationship with You.
How much does He love me, you ask.
Enough to take our place on the cross dear one.
He gives up His life for the sins of the world.
He is ready to save anyone who asks Him to do so.
What a wonderful Lord and God we serve.
