” Just Be Ready”

Do you like surprises? I like some surprises but I have to admit I work better in a structured atmosphere. In other words, I kind of like to know when and how things are going to happen and work out.
I become uncomfortable with going with the flow. I would like to know how deep is that flow, which way is it going, and if I will do ok in that flow.

Please read the following verses. Mark 13:32-37

32 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. 35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back — whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!'”

I think many people are like me in this respect, they want to be in the know. The disciples and others wanted to know when the great tribulation was coming. Jesus told them that He didn’t know. Only the Lord God knew and He wasn’t telling.

Would you like to know when the Lord is returning in the air for His church? If the Lord tarries, would you like to know when you are going to die?

The more I think of it, the more I don’t want to know. Can you imagine the chaos of this world’s people if they knew the date and time of the Lord’s events? I believe we would all be trying to make sure we have everything right, that we are OK with the Lord God. We might try to delay our demise.

There is a simpler and more effective way. Be ready. In school, if one keeps up with their reading and class assignments, they need not fear pop quizzes and such. If we were ready, we were ready.
You and I as believers have the indwelling Spirit who has prepared us to be with the Lord God forever. If we follow His lead, we are ready for anything at any time.

Be ready.

Have a tremendous day in the Lord,

Let everything that has breath (this includes you) Praise and thank the Lord.

Be Blessed,

Be a Blessing;

Amen
