“They Didn’t Know Jesus “

This thought is evident when the temple police come to arrest Jesus.
They come with an arsenal of weapons to arrest the King of Peace.

Please read the following verses.

Mark 14:43-50
43 Just as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.
44 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard.”
45 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Rabbi!” and kissed him.
46 The men seized Jesus and arrested him.
47 Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.

48 “Am I leading a rebellion,” said Jesus, “that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me?
49 Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”

50 Then everyone deserted him and fled.

Jesus speaks to their ignorance with a question in verse
Mark 14:48-49
48 “Am I leading a rebellion,” said Jesus, “that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me?
49 Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”

I mean come on, Peter cuts an ear off of one of the temple police and Jesus who is being arrested takes time to give the man a new ear.

Too many times, we project who we are and what we would do upon others.
We tend to see others differently in this light.

If I know something would make me angry I assume it would make you angry too. That could or could not be true.
Jesus, always did things His Father’s way. And when we read of His Father’s way in the Word, we see how far we have fallen away from the Lord God.

But here is some good news.
Our Lord and God await us mending our relationship or starting a new one.
It reminds me of the following song.

“The Savior is Waiting”
1 The Savior is waiting to enter your heart,
Why don’t you let Him come in?
There’s nothing in this world to keep you apart,
What is your answer to Him?

Refrain:
Time after time He has waited before,
And now He is waiting again,
To see if you’re willing to open the door,
Oh, how he wants to come in.

2 If you’ll take one step toward the Savior, my friend,
You’ll find His arms open wide,
Receive Him and all of your darkness will end,
Within your heart, He’ll abide. [Refrain]

Refrain:
Time after time He has waited before,
And now He is waiting again,
To see if you’re willing to open the door,
Oh, how he wants to come in.

Be Blest, Be a Blessing
