“Busted”

Oh my goodness, the disciples certainly were busted.

Please read the following verses and see it for yourselves. Mark 9:30-37

30 They left that place and passed through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know where they were, 31 because he was teaching his disciples. He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise.” 32 But they did not understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him about it. 33 They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, “What were you arguing about on the road?” 34 But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest. 35 Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.” 36 He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, 37 “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” Well, first of all, Jesus tells them for a second time, that He will be killed. They didn’t understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him.

Now in fairness, scripture tells us this. Luke 18:3434 The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.

Always, always ask, if you don’t understand something from the pulpit or Sunday Scool or your personal Bible reading. Ask someone about it. I get quite a few calls from people who have questions.

Jesus also asked the disciples were asked what they were arguing about when they were walking down the road.
They would not answer because they were arguing which one of them was the greatest.
If Jesus were number 1, who was number two.
They figured, If they don’t talk, they can’t get chewed out, right?

They were busted because Jesus knew and addresses what they were talking about.

Never forget, we as humans don’t get away with anything. We like the disciples are busted because the Lord God knows our every thought.
So instead of worrying that we might get busted, we live the life that the indwelling Spirit teaches us to live.

Believers are saved. And that sense of peace we receive overcomes the urge to worry about being busted.

Have a tremendous day in the Lord,

Let everything that has breath (this includes you) Praise and thank the Lord.

Be Blessed,

Be a Blessing;

Amen
