“The Religious Leaders Fail Yet Again “
What a sorry lot the religious leaders of Jesus’ day were. Their very Messiah, whom they had waited to see for 2000 years was in their midst and they are trying to kill Him, to trick Hoom, to somehow make Him fail.
Please read the following verses.
27 They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him.
28 “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you authority to do this?”
29 Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
30 John’s baptism — was it from heaven or men? Tell me!”
31 They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’
32 But if we say, ‘From men’ . . . .” (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.)
33 So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
In every silly trap the religious leaders come up with, Jesus passes through unharmed and not trapped.
That Wisdom from the Lord God is available to believers through the Holy Spirit.
16 “For who has known the mind of the Lord
that he may instruct him?”
But we have the mind of Christ.
May we pass all of our life and life’s choices through the wonderful mind of Christ Jesus.
I am so glad that He is my Lord and Savior.
Thanks be to Jesus Christ, our beloved Lord.
