Now that thought may seem bizarre.
How is one to submit while at the same time submitting.
Well, the secret to living out this thought is that we are not submitting and resiting the same one.
Please read the following verses and see how we can do these two things at the same time.
5 Young men, in the same way, be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
but gives grace to the humble.”
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
11 To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.
You see, we submit to the Lord God and resist the devil or Satan. Unfortunately, the people of this world get this thought turned around.
They resist the Lord while submitting to Satan.
Even as believers, we mess up.
However, believers, remember we have the power available through the Holy Spirit.
With His help, we can get the submission and rejection right.
Please sing along with this song.
“Now Thank We All Our God”
1 Now thank we all our God
with heart and hands and voices,
who wondrous things has done,
in whom his world rejoices;
who from our mothers’ arms
has blessed us on our way
with countless gifts of love,
2 O may this bounteous God
through all our life be near us,
and blessed peace to cheer us,
and guide us when perplexed,
and free us from all ills
of this world in the next.
3 All praise and thanks to God
the Son and Spirit blest,
who reign in highest heaven
whom heaven and earth adore;
