A Thought for Today: “Keep Maturing”
What would we think, if we had a baby that never matured into an adult?
They would always be in diapers, always roll around, we would always need to carry them because they can’t walk. They would always need fed and perhaps never sleep through the night without waking you for milk.
Would we not be horrified by such a situation?
It would be a very traumatic time.
Please read the following verses.
11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn.
12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!
13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.
14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Ah, baby Christians. If we are a believer, we started out as a Spiritual babe.
And some people never move beyond this. ‘
My prayer, however, would be that we would all be maturing, that we would move from spiritual milk to spiritual meat.
I believe this pleases the Lord God when we let Him mature us.
May we all be in the midst of developing spiritually for the rest of our lives?
As believers, we never fully arrive at a place where we don’t need more growth.
We mature as we become more and more like Christ.
