“Life Goals for the Believer”
The more I read the Bible, the more I realize the life goals that are included therein.
Please read the following verses to see some of these Holy Spirit given goals.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me — put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Can we accomplish all these goals? Perhaps, if we follow the Holy Spirit’s lead. As I read these goals I know I fall short of them. But I long to live in harmony with other believers as we live out these goals.
Can you imagine a life that is always joyful, (not happy, joyful,) not anxious, (worrying) living by prayer and thanksgiving, presenting our requests to the Lord God? Then we focus on what is noble, right, pure, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy living with the God of peace.
But wait, believers already can live this way. When we become believers, the Holy Spirit continues to lead us down the path of a changed life.
This new way of living is possible with any who accepts Christ’s offer of His blood for their sin.
This indeed is great news.
