“Truth Cannot Compromise”
Compromise is called for in our denomination.
We can’t always agree, so let’s just stay away from the areas we disagree in and work together in the areas we agree.
Well, these areas where we agree are getting fewer and fewer. There are those who do not believe the Bible came from God at all. There are those who believe there are multiple ways to heaven. There are those who don’t accept Christ’s blood for their sins.
So, can’t we just get along? No
Please read the following verses.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
18 ‘I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.” NKJV
You see, believers don’t separate from unbelievers, we try to win them to Christ. But believers cannot accept the lies from ones who say they are believers but do not follow the Christ of Scripture.
Now, these false teachers are unbelievers too.
Shouldn’t we try to win them to Christ?
Yes, we should.
But when they will not believe the truth of the Bible, when they fight us at every turn we cannot live in unity. We have no other choice then, but to separate and go our separate ways.
This is not something that believers enjoy doing, but we simply must pray for them and turn them over to the Holy Spirit.
We allow Him to deal with them as He may.
I will end this thought with another portion of scripture that goes along with what you just read.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Walk in Light
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.
13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.
14 Therefore He says:
“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.” NKJV
