A Thought for Today: “Only One Gospel”
Please read the following verses.
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently, some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!
9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
10 Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
The Galatians were a people who worshipped many gods.
The Holy Spirit through Paul taught them about the only true God.
He also taught them the only true Gospel, the Gospel of Grace
After Paul left the area, Judaizers (some Jewish people) came to the area and gave them a works gospel, not from God.
In this Gospel, you needed to be circumcised and follow the law to be saved.
There is a problem here.
This gospel demands that man do certain things to achieve salvation.
The Gospel of grace, says that the Lord God has done all that is needed for our salvation.
This confused many people, and many decided to go with the other Gospel, which as the Holy Spirit through Paul says is no gospel at all.
Yes, there are many gospels out there in this world.
But the Lord God and scri[pture give us the only TRUE Gospel.
The following hymn tells us more about the real and only TRUE Gospel.
I hear the Savior say,
“Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.”
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
